How the cold affects us in later life

Winter can often be a worrying time for seniors. After all, our bodies don’t respond to the cold temperatures as efficiently as they used to.

Each winter, seniors are at greater risk of dying prematurely than those of younger ages. Research(1) has shown that while the flu is the main culprit most winter seasons, other factors may also contribute. Age UK(2) explains how the cold affects us differently as we get older.
